About

Help Build A Community Foundation is a non-profit organization that is registered in Ontario, Canada.

We build libraries for schools and communities in Ghana.  We also supply books, classroom materials and laboratory equipment to high schools, desks and other types of school supplies. A child could read and understand well (or, be able to learn properly) only if that child is in good health. We want to make sure that our literacy programmes are working in the communities that we serve. We therefore support health education programmes in those communities as well.

Mission:

Our aim is to help the poor and marginalized communities in Ghana to have access to education by providing them with literacy/numeracy materials and programmes.

We can accomplish our mission through self-initiatives, fundraising events, corporate sponsorships and joint partnerships with other non-profit organizations.

Vision:

Our vision is to see that every child has access to books and is able to read and write.

We depend on corporate sponsors, institutions, private individuals and volunteers to achieve this vision.

Help Build A Community Foundation started its first project in Ghana with the building of a community library for the people of Opon Valley in the Western Region of that country. Construction for this project began in March 2012. The structure was completed and opened in May 2015. We have also supplied science books and laboratory equipment to a high school (West Africa Secondary School) in Accra, the national capital of Ghana. It is our intention to expand our programmes to other parts of the country as we continue to grow.
